Las Vegas city is situated in the middle of Vegas Valley. The Vegas valley is a desert region of about 600 square miles. It is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Spring Mountains that vary in color from pink to rust to gray. Inside the Las Vegas city, there are large number of lawns, trees, and greenery.
